Chicago Bulls Head Coach Vinny del Negro's almost expected firing may be placed on hold for now if his team keeps winning. The Bulls improved to 14-17 after winning their fourth straight game with Tyrus Thomas back on the court, defeating the now 24-9 Orlando Magic 101-93 Saturday night. Derrick Rose put up a game-high 30 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Chicago is a playoff team at the moment.

Matt Barnes came into tonight having only made 16 three-pointers. Barnes finished with a season-high 23 points as he drained 5 shots from downtown. Dwight Howard grabbed 12 rebounds and once again only scored 9 points. J.J. Redick also came off the pine to post 11 points. Rashard Lewis made over $230,000 tonight as he could only muster 7 points. Mickael Pietrus managed to put up 8 points and 6 boards as he played the entire game with a wrap around his right thumb. Vince Carter scored 8 points in 30 minutes of play before exiting the 4th quarter for the locker room after he planted his left foot awkwardly on a drive to the basket. For now, Carter is listed as day-to-day with a left ankle sprain.
Jameer Nelson finished with 10 points and 10 assists, but Stan Van Gundy hinted in the postgame interview that he's very unsatisfied with the point guard defense, stating Jonny Flynn last night and Derrick Rose as examples of guys going off against the team. Also, the power forwards are bringing little rebounding support as Chicago grabbed 16 offensive rebounds, which offset their minute 5 3-point attempts. The Magic also grabbed 16 offensive rebounds and hoisted 37 3-balls and made 14 of them. Too bad the Magic men only made a pitiful 14 out of 35 attempts at the rim. The overall shooting percentage battle was won by the Bulls, 43 to 36%. The Magic are now off until Tuesday when they begin another back-to-back in Indiana against the Pacers who just broke a lengthy 8-game losing streak tonight.
Chicago was able to survive what surprisingly turned out to be a very physical yet entertaining battle. John Salmons brought solid bench support for the Bulls, tallying 15 points. Taj Gibson is meshing in the starting lineup as he posted a 12-point, 10-board double-double. At shooting guard, Kirk Hinrich put up a respectable 11 points. Finally, Luol Deng ended the night with 14 points and 9 rebounds. The Bulls stay at the United Center to begin a back-to-back of their own on Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder
