Wednesday marked a special 19th anniversary for Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach Scott Skiles. On December 30, 1990 Skiles dished out a yet to be broken NBA record 30 assists for the Orlando Magic in a 155-116 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Coach Skiles almost celebrated the occasion last night with a victory in Orlando only to have his hopes dashed midway through the 3rd quarter when the Magic began their 13-0 run with the Bucks up 67-60.

A 76-point second half performance fueled the Magic to a 117-92 win. A 2nd half franchise shooting best 78.4% broke their previous 1990 best by a tenth of a percent. To put the Magic men's turnaround in perspective, Orlando scored 38 points in the 3rd quarter, when they only had a total of 41 at halftime. One of the most excited Amway Arena crowds of the season got to relish in phenomenal 2nd half performances by Vince Carter, Jason Williams, and Mickael PIetrus. Matt Barnes started in place of Pietrus on the evening. Barnes put up 10 points, but Pietrus finished with 15 points in which 12 of those came in the 4th quarter.
Jameer Nelson is still struggling after coming off his return from a knee injury as he could only muster up 4 points. But Jason Williams scored 16 points and dished out 7 assists. 'J-Will' went into 'White Chocolate' mode and made five 3-pointers in the 2nd half. Ryan Anderson found himself sitting on the bench for the entire night, with Brandon Bass playing a solid 16 minutes. Dwight Howard somehow managed a double-double even with foul trouble as he put up 17 points and 10 rebounds. Marcin Gortat and 'D12' split the center position minutes at 24 a piece with Gortat tallying 9 points and 7 boards. 'Vinsanity' was the only player who seemed to show up on Christmas against the Boston Celtics. After colliding with Milwaukee Buck Ersan Ilyasova in the 3rd quarter, Carter woke up and put up nineteen 2nd half points. At 23-8, Orlando plays the Timberwolves in Minnesota to start 2010.
Milwaukee has now lost seven of their last eight games as the Bucks now have a 12-18 record. As usual, Brandon Jennings and Andrew Bogut led the way. Jennings put up 20 points while the Australian Bogut managed a double-double of 15 points and 10 boards. Luke Ridnour once again played well off the bench, pouring in 16 points. Ilyasova was the only other Buck in double figures with 13 points, also snagging 7 boards. Milwaukee's on a 4-game losing streak and travel to Oklahoma City on Saturday to play the 17-14 Thunder who have won four consecutive games.
