Coming off a gutsy comeback Monday night against the Utah Jazz, the Orlando Magic found time on Tuesday to host a party at RDV Sportsplex for 42 families of the Apopka Family Learning Center where the organization provided many activities from snow slides, to snowball fights (in which players like Brandon Bass and Ryan Anderson gladly participated in) and arts and crafts where J.J. Redick manned the face paint area and Mickael Pietrus was working on his drawing. The team gave out plenty of bikes for all the children in attendance.

On the day that Magic center Dwight Howard was named the league's Eastern Conference Player of The Week, J.J. Redick decided to steal the show in the fourth quarter in order secure an Orlando win over the Jazz by a score of 104-99. The Magic avenged their previous defeat at the hands of the Jazz in Utah by riding a red-hot Redick, who scored 11 of his 20 points in the final frame.

Orlando won 100-98, in a game that literally came down to the last seconds, when Matt Barnes corralled a loose ball to secure the game.

Written by Spenser Strode    Sunday, 08 November 2009 15:13    Print E-mail

The Orlando Magic take to the road for a two game trip that sees them begin in Oklahoma City for a Sunday night contest with the Thunder. The Magic are coming off a 110-103 victory over the Detroit Pistions, the only team to have beaten them thus far this season, and enter tonight 5-1 on the season. The young Thunder bunch are growing up before the league's eyes. Oklahoma City started the season with two straight wins, but have since lost their last three contests for a 2-3 record on the year.
