Stephen Jackson put up a season-high 35 points for the Charlotte Bobcats late Saturday afternoon in a 107-97 victory at American Airlines Arena against the Miami Heat. In a key Southeast Division matchup the Heat found themselves dropping their third straight contest despite 29 points from Dwayne Wade, and are falling back towards .500 with a current 16-15 record. The now 13-18 Bobcats are holding on to the 8th and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

A 34-25 4th quarter by the Bobcats was good enough to win this very up and down game that saw 17 lead changes and 9 ties. Keep in mind, Charlotte was down 29-10 before they made their second period charge. Both teams shot solid field goal percentages with the Bobcats prevailing 52% to 46%. The real difference came at the free throw line as Charlotte converted on 28 of 31 attempts, while Miami only shot 16 free throws and making 14. Gerald Wallace had a rough shooting night, but was able to muster 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks as the Bobcats seem to go as far as 'Crash' and 'Captain Jack' can take them. D.J. Augustin had a phenomenal plus-minus of +26 and poured in 13 points off the bench in 18 minutes of work.

Charlotte has now won just their 2nd road game of the season as they've relied completely on playing in front of their home fans. Coach Larry Brown's boys stay out on the road and have to travel to Cleveland to complete their back-to-back on Sunday. The Cavs came off a 94-86 win over the Nets today.

Quentin Richardson complemented Wade's team-high with 20 points of his own. Michael Beasley, showing off his afro, finished with 14 points. Udonis Haslem had the worst plus-minus at -26, finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Coach Erik Spoelstra's club look to notch their first 2010 victory in another home divisional game when they host the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
