Boston Celtics' Skid A Sign Of Things To Come?

In light of the Boston Celtics' recent three-game losing skid, I decided to dig deep into the basketball archives to see if I could determine whether or not the losses are a a sign of things to come, or rather if they are insignificant when trying to determine if the Boston Celtics can win their second championship in the last three seasons. Let's dive into yet another edition of the famed Penny and Paper.

Anything For A Buck

The NBA is of course a multi-billion dollar industry that is founded on great basketball and great entertainment. Therefore, it is no surprise that nearly ever action taken by the league is to ensure that their teams are pushed into the black at the end of every fiscal period. In this edition of Penny and Paper, it's time to take a look at some of the most interesting cost-cutting and, to borrow a term, "creative financing" techniques that are being used to help drive more money into the pockets of owners and executives across the league.

The NBA has been around for over 50 years, but gaining a slight edge over your opponent by any means necessary has been around for even longer. In this installment of Penny and Paper, I will be taking a look at some old-school, and new-school forms of gamesmanship in the NBA.

Love And Basketball

It's time for another edition, and another addition to my favorite part of the website. So what better way to get back into the Penny and Paper mode than by titling this edition of the column after one of my favorite movies. Love and Basketball chronicles the journey of two childhood friends, a boy and a girl, who both dream of playing in the NBA. The story follows them from pre-teen to their adult lives, and all of the trials and tribulations in between. If anyone has yet to see this classic basketball film, I implore you to give it a rental. So in honor of one of my more-liked films, I am going to discuss some of the things in the NBA that I am loving right now, and for sake of parity, also some of the things that I am hating.
